Meet Christina!

Christina Marie Nunez, LCSW is a therapist who shows up with authenticity, empathy, and a healthy dose of humor. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor, she has spent nearly a decade supporting adults navigating trauma, serious mental illness, mood disorders, psychosis, and substance use challenges. Her approach is grounded in evidence‑based care, but her style is warm, real, and collaborative — helping clients feel safe while doing meaningful work.

Christina has extensive experience within the private practice and intensive outpatient mental health realms where she integrates CBT for Depression, Motivational Interviewing, Social Skills Training, and trauma‑informed care — always tailoring treatment to the person, not the diagnosis. Clients often describe her as warm, real, and easy to talk to, with a knack for blending empathy and humor in a way that makes difficult work feel safe and manageable. She has also worked across managed care and the federal healthcare systems, including several years with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where she provided psychotherapy and psychosocial rehabilitation to veterans with complex behavioral health needs and Centene Corporation where she partnered with behavioral health providers to strengthen treatment planning and support recovery‑focused outcomes.

Outside of her clinical work, Christina is a working mom to a baby girl and a proud dog mom to Murphy, her Bernese Mountain Dog. She loves cooking, being outdoors, and anything involving water — from kayaking to backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains. These parts of her life shape her therapeutic style: grounded, human, and rooted in the belief that resilience grows when we feel supported, understood, and free to be ourselves.
