Leslie is a passionate, dedicated and diversely experienced bilingual therapist with over 5 years of experience working with diverse populations in South Florida, including children, teens, families, adults, veterans, the elderly and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She has served these populations with various needs, such as mental health, housing and employment for the homeless, substance abuse and individuals with dual diagnosis.
Leslie’s professional experience includes working with individuals presenting with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, somatic disorders, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorders, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, and behavioral issues.
Leslie believes everyone is the expert in their lived experience and meets them where they are at in their life journey to develop an individualized treatment goal. Leslie uses a strengths-based approach and draws heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and self-compassion to help you reach your goals. She works to create a culturally informed, nonjudgmental and safe space where you can share your journey, challenges and hopes.
To practice her own self-care, Leslie enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys attending volleyball tournaments, going to the movies, the beach, discovering new restaurants and experiences, using soothing sounds for relaxation and some alone time. She strives to be a lifelong learner and is always seeking new opportunities to grow her clinical skills!
