Hello! I’m Gianinne Alvarez, a dual-certified Acute Care and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I completed my psychiatric education at the University of Miami and am passionate about delivering holistic, person-centered care that addresses both physical and emotional well-being.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish. With over seven years of experience in healthcare - including emergency medicine, aesthetics, and surgical services - I’ve had the privilege of caring for people during some of their most vulnerable moments. Over time, I realized how often mental health needs were overlooked, which inspired me to pursue psychiatry and make a deeper impact in people’s lives.
I completed an internship at Jackson Memorial Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, where I worked with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. I’m especially passionate about working with and supporting those navigating depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, ADHD, and autism. I believe in creating a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and individualized care. I often incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to help clients manage symptoms and build resilience.
I also offer telehealth services to make mental health care more accessible and convenient for clients with busy lives or limited mobility.
When I’m not working, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, spoiling my cat, working out, planning trips, or spending quality time with my amazing family.
