Cristina Sanchez completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Miami. She has extensive experience in private practice and has worked with adults across the age spectrum. Cristy's areas of specialization include self-esteem, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief and loss. Because she lost her sister at a young age, Cristy is particularly attuned to the difficulties that accompany losing a loved one and feels passionate about helping others who are going through similar experiences. Her primary theoretical orientations are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based interventions.
Cristy works to ensure that her clients feel safe and understood in session. Her main priority is to provide validation, normalization, and empathy, while supporting her clients in becoming the best version of themselves. She prioritizes self-awareness, compassion, and the dialectic of acceptance and change as her model.
Cristy has also worked in early childhood and high school education as a teacher for several years. She feels passionate about serving her community through different platforms.
Outside of the therapeutic setting, Cristy enjoys doing freelance makeup, exercising, and eating yummy food at different restaurants across Miami!
