J’nay was born and raised in New York. Psychology and the complexities of the human experience have always been an area of interest to her, so following high school, she attended Penn State University where she studied psychology. During her college career, she spent a semester in Barcelona, Spain, studying cross cultural psychology and improving her fluency of the Spanish language. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and returned to New York where she immediately began a Master’s program in Mental Health Counseling. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College and became licensed in the state of New York shortly after.
J’nay has worked in various settings and with a diverse range of clientele in New York City. Due to her love of the beach and warm weather, J’nay would often travel to Florida to escape New York winters. Eventually, she made South Florida her second home and became fully credentialed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She has since worked successfully with private mental health and addiction companies in South Florida.
J'nay has extensive knowledge and experience in providing therapy and counseling for individuals, groups, couples, young adults, and families dealing with a wide range of mental health and emotional disorders. J’nay has certified trauma training and she is well versed in an assortment of therapeutic approaches and techniques, including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Talk Therapy.
